There’s no evidence showing that fertiliser imports have damaged local fertilser products to apply trade defence measures for the imports, according to a report by the Viet Nam Competition Authority (VCA) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Viet Nam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) has proposed to the Prime Minister to delay the equitisation of the losing Ninh Binh Nitrogenous Fertiliser Plant until it generates profits again in order to ensure effective restructuring.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will, in June, inspect the Viet Nam Chemical Group (Vinachem) and Ninh Binh Fertiliser Plant, a member company of Vinachem.
The Viet Nam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) intends to complete the
equitisation of all its subsidiary companies this year, said Deputy
General Director Bui The Chuyen.
Domestic nitrogenous fertiliser manufacturers are worried about selling
fertiliser due to an oversupply by local manufacturers, along with high
imports.
The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade
of Vietnam and Ninh Binh Nitrogenous Fertiliser Company Ltd signed a
credit contract worth VND800 billion (US$30.10 million) on Monday.
